Rolando Ortiz Sandoval is a Chilean artist from Temuco, Chile, the gateway to the striking southern lakes region
that includes world-renowned destinations like Pucon.
For decades, he has been painting and sculpting images of authentic
native Araucanian life, and is considered unique in his ability to capture the essence of native Chilean culture.

here is an example of his work, which highlights the clothing, headware, and unique, proud appearance of the Mapuche Araucanians,
who were never actually conquered by the Spaniards.
